Originally built in 1919 as a wooden boxcar for the Grand Trunk Railway. Canadian National Railways
purchased the Grand Trunk Railway and renumbered the boxcar. It was converted into a caboose in
January 1957 and numbered CN 79092. Canadian National Railways sold it in 1982 to a gentleman in
New Glasgow. Mr. Leil purchased 3 cabooses at the time and planned to turn them into hunting camps.
The 3 cabooses which sat in his back yard deteriorated until he sold # 78761 in 1990 to Upper
Clements Theme Park, Clementsport N.S. (caboose # 78761 had now deteriorated beyond
restoration) The 2 remaining cabooses continued to deteriorate until January 1994 when they were
purchased by the Train Station Inn and moved to Tatamagouche.
