"Life was always an adventure growing up with a train station in my backyard. I remember I was just 5 years old when the railway took the Jitney train out of service...I was standing on the platform looking up at Mr. Penny the Stationmaster and I asked "since you don't need the Jitney anymore, can I buy it?" He laughed, patted me on the head and said,"No Jimmie, it's gone somewhere else now."

TRAIN STATION INN

Our unique accommodations are vintage Canadian-built cabooses & boxcars, authentic on the outside, redesigned and developed into private deluxe suites on the inside with reflections of their railway past throughout. We also maintain a vast and eclectic gift shop, as well as a locally roasted coffee bar & cafe in our original 19th-century train station, built circa 1887. Our guests can also enjoy local craft beers & meads from our Baggage Room Bar and live music nights on our railway platform. During your visit, our 600 foot & 400-ton train remains a dominating sight to see within the village of Tatamagouche as you experience our property or stroll along the old rail bed (now the Trans Canada Trail) that meanders alongside our not so forgotten railyard.

RAILWAY DINING CAR

At the Tatamagouche Train Station, our philosophy is Fresh is Best, which is why we started our very own garden.  We invite you to browse our selection of vegetables and edible flowers, grown without the use of pesticides.  After touring the gardens stop for a bite to eat at our Railway Dining Car or Jitney Cafe to see how we put our treasures to use.
